Professional Development Resources provided through the UA Postdoctoral Resource Network

One of our main goals is to promote professional development in the postdoc community at the University of Arizona. Many of us never have the opportunity to engage in furthering our skills in teaching, management, writing, or outreach (to name a few). UAPA aims to change that by connecting postdocs to opportunities in order to expand their skill set and get the most out of their time at UA.

​To this end, we're going about this in two different ways.

First: we're providing information on professional development opportunities led by other organizations or groups on campus. Check out our calendar for events, or better yet, sign up for the UA Postdoc email list-serve.

Second: we're organizing both temporary and ongoing professional development events that we hope will meet some of the unfilled needs. Our current goal is to organize one event a month. Ongoing events are described below, while temporary events can be found on our calendar.

Ongoing Professional Development Opportunities

Writing Accountability Groups

Groups of postdocs that get together every two weeks and discuss their progression on writing (grants, papers, reviews, book chapters). Provides regularity, structure, accountability, support and encouragement. Sign-ups happen at the beginning of every semester. Please email us if you're interested in joining!
