Supporting Careers
One of our main goals is to promote professional development for the postdoc community at the University of Arizona. It can be often difficult to identify activities and programs to engage in furthering our skills in teaching, management, writing, or outreach (to name a few). UAPA aims to be a resource that can connect postdocs to opportunities in order to expand their skill set and get the most out of their time at UA.
To this end, we're going about this in two different ways.

1 We provide information on professional development opportunities led by other organizations or groups on campus. Check out our calendar and also sign up for the UA Postdoc email list-serve.
2 We organize professional development events that we hope will meet some of your unfilled needs. If you have ideas, please reach out to us!

Writing Accountability Groups

Do you need help with your writing progress? Forming a writing group that gets together every two weeks and discuss their progression on writing (grants, papers, reviews, book chapters) can provide regularity, structure, accountability, support and encouragement. Please email us if you're interested in joining!
We have partnered with a law firm to host a webinar 1 - 2 times per year to provide information and options for international postdocs regarding their immigration matters. Stay tuned for the next one happening in March 2025!
